The United Nations of Earth, known as SolGov, is the penultimate governing body throughout all known sectors. They supersede all planetary governors and are directly responsible for all colonization missions. As the primary governing body of the galaxy, they function as peacekeepers and commercial traders throughout their space, ensuring a hefty tax is levied in return for their services.
Structure
The President of the United Nations of Earth is elected by a popular vote from all constituent planets in the Sol-Core sector and oversees all executive functions of the entire government.
Planetary Governors are elected by a council of representatives on Earth for each planet. These governors are in charge of their planet's individual commerce and military presence.
Technological Level
As the center of all scientific research within the known galaxy, Sol holds the lion's share of all research. As the first to perfect cloning, CRISPR editing, and the original FTL Drive, they will always hold a spot in history as the most advanced nation among the stars.
