Gateway Defensive Beacon
Each station in the Ordo Gateway Network is equipped with a defensive beacon which is tied into the Communications Network. They serve simply as a security system, sending an alert through the communications network based on given parameters. They can be set to scan lifeforms, EM signatures og simply react to doors opening, wall breaches or similar variables.
The only purpose is to alert of a security breach on a gateway facility along with a status update on the condition of the facility and gateway. This allows for proper planning in case of invasion or damages to the network and allows for ample time to react to any threat. The beacons cannot actually prevent anyone from entering a gateway station and will not deter in any way, but the vast amount of information it can send including scans and surveillance allows for control in retaking or reinforcing the station.
The beacons themselves are sometimes located inside or on top of the network stations, but can also be found a short distance away. Usually they are disguised as something mundane or natural for the same reason they are silent as not to be detected and damaged or disabled.
All senior Templars should know how to operate these and they should always be activated when leaving the station unmanned or dormant.
