Henvol, The Traitor
Henvol is one of the nine Devil Princes and Lord of L'Reus.
Henvol was once one of Zelezeth's most trusted allies and companions, having been promoted from one of his own Archdukes upon the previous Prince of L'Reus' failure to stop a band of adventurers stealing knowledge from the great libraries of Ozero. Due to his closeness with the lord of the Hells he was known as Henvol, The Loyal to all throughout the planes, a true ally Zelezeth could rely on to guard the secrets of Ozero and the treasures of Deres.
Henvol however would soon break this ancient alliance. It is unclear why he chose to betray his master and try to take The Ruby Rod and the throne of Hell for himself, but try he certainly did. Some say that Henvol was manipulated by his lover, the ancient Hag and one third of the Ekar Coven, Grigwarka into attempting his coup claiming that she wanted the deep knowledge guarded in Ozero. Some argue that Henvol was simply always envious of Zelezeth and their entire partnership was a lie hiding Henvol's greed. Some claim that Henvol was inspired by the mortals fighting their Creator during the Schism and took up arms against his own master. Some, who claim to have heard whispers within the court of Nyasa, say that Hevol was simply acting on orders from Zelezeth, that Henvol was so loyal that he was willing to take the fall in order to act as proof that no body, no matter how close to the Lord of the Hells was beyond punishment.
Henvol's coup failed, but Zelezeth did not kill him. Instead Zelezeth did something that nobody knew was possible, and broke the original design of the Hells, transforming L'Reus into a frozen wasteland and sealing Henvol in an everlasting block of ice, never to be able to move or plot again. Instead of ruling an army to defend the three lower layers of the hells, there would be an impassable frozen wasteland proudly featuring a giant permentant frosty statue standing as a monument to what happens to those who go against Zelezeth's eternal rule.
