Archduke

Archdukes exist outside of the genetic hierarchy of lower devils  and have the ability to present themselves in many unique and distinct ways.

No two Archdukes are the same in terms of power and appearance, a small crack in the perfect order of the Hells. Only the highest ranking devils can become an Archduke, and it is determined by the Prince of their layer.

A devil might be promoted to bolster the forces of the layer, sometimes for a specific role, sometimes as part of a group. Many however are promoted simply because the previous Archduke failed and the natural order of the hells needed a replacement.

An archduke is second only to a Prince in terms of power and many scheme and plot in order to move themselves up the hierarchy.
