Session 73: When Last We Met 3/10/24
General Summary
When last we met, The party had just heard a lifeless Artjem speak once more. Telling of Tresures and dangers that lie ahead for them. With things seeming quiet, the party decides to explore the Slozhny mansion. They find a few more of the servants of the mansion whom they quickly sequester to the art studio where the others are. They find an entire library of occult books as well as maps of the country of Sunwilde. Speaking of an artifact called The Book of Vile Darkness. With scribblings and notes saying it may be found in the country of Sunwilde. Paricularly in an area known as the eternal desert. The party proceeds to put the entire Library into Romaia's Bag of Holding as They continue to find threads on this mysterious item spread throughout the mansion.
One the second floor, the party find a metallic construct guarding one room in particular. Attacks on it yielded little results. So the party decided to back out and find another way into that room. Tensi exits the manor and proceeds to climb up the side to enter through a bay window finding Artjem's master bedroom. An investigation by Celeste finds more loot. More occult clues and a secret door that leads to the basement of the Mansion. Using a keyring he got off of Artjem, Mistral unlocks the various doors as they find essentially an undergorund villain lair. Complete with man eating Crocodiles. The party investigates this subterranean hideout with Tensi wild-shaping into a mosquito to delve into the 3 winding tunnels that snake out from this hideout. She finds 2 of the tunnels lead outside the city and one leads to a locked door. She returns and relays what she finds and the party decide to check out the locked door. Opening it they find a room that contains among other things, a giant vault and proceed to call down their allies and lock themselves down here as they take a short rest.
Once recovered somewhat, The party proceed into the vault. Unlocking it with Tensi's Chime of Opening. Inside they find the aforementioned dragon's hoard of wealth. While the party carefully proceeds in and examines the riches. Vandread stumbles upon a creature known as a mimic impersonating one of the various treasure chests. it springs to life but is quickly put down by Celeste. After that fright, the party cautiously goes over the take of this crime lord and thats where we'll pick up next time.
