Nachstein Mountains

Range of tall mountains in the center of the Saxon Hills. They are named for their appearance - bare rock jutting out of the hills. They rise quite high, several thousand feet higher than the surrounding hills (so close to 10,000 feet.) They are wild and steep and inaccessible, the home of giants, goliaths, and, underground, dwarves and other subterranean races.

Geography

Tall, steep mountains, jutting often thousands of feet above the surrounding hills, marked by bare stone peaks, giving them their name.

Fauna & Flora

Above the tree line, not much. the surrounding areas are swathed in typical alpine vegetation, and pine forests hugging the middle ranges. They are home ot the usual creatures in these altitudes. There are, as well, giants, goliaths, possibly dragons living in the heights.

Natural Resources

Underground, there are mines and quarries, and though these are ancient mountains, where dwarves and other groups have been living and mining for millenia, there are still good seams of ore to be found.
