Descended from union of Orc and another species - usually human, though elves, half-elves, possibly halflings, dwarves and others can also occur.

History

Many are the result of wars and other periods of unrest. Orcs are known to take prisoners for breeding, and a fair number of half-orcs are either directly or indirectly the offspring of rape or slavery. However, this is at least as much a public perception as reality, as half-orcs, like half-elves, have often congregated together, and developed families and communities of half-orcs, and any others who are willing to live with them. Similarly, in many frontier places, relationships between orcs and humans goes through cycles, including cycles of cooperation, which leads to interbreeding.
