Human
Humans live throughout the entire world. They are extremely adaptable.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
Humans are most likely a sub-species of a broader human class, since they are able to reproduce easily with elves, orcs and halflings, at the least. (Probably also with dwarves and other species, though such unions tend to absorb their offspring into the specific group.) All of these offspring are fully fertile as hybrids - half-orcs can breed with half-elves as well as a human with an elf.
Ecology and Habitats
Humans have been able to adapt to any conditions, through technology at least.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Determined by ethnic and national conditions.
Average Technological Level
Late medieval to early modern, plus Magic.
History
Humans originated in the mists of the past, probably in the southern continents. They migrated north and were living alongside elves before the last ice age.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
This varies everywhere. Generally, in the northwest, humans are very friendly with halflings, fairly friendly to elves and half-elves where they have contact, vary widely in their relations with dwarves. Gnomes are not as common, but are usually on good terms with humans. Orcs are usually considered monstrous enemies, but half-orcs are common, and in some places have been grudgingly accepted into society. Other races are less common, and their reception depends on local conditions.
