Metavoxianism

Metavoxianism is the official term used to describe the faith of the (mostly ryclin) bio-coder people among the OA, and a few variations beyond. Its name is rooted in the idea that they are the voice and seer in the dark, of a system called the omni-meta, where they believe the entire stringed existence that is perceivable is all but a giant simulated program, coded to run on a system used to test something from a higher power or form. As the "voice" and seeker of such a thing, they actually manage to manifest various different meanings and jobs out of the task, but ultimately wish to spread the idea that all may not be real, and yet often suggest such is actually an okay fate to operate under; Possibly an even better one than that of the great designers.   Alternatively, there is a name attributed to them as Oudenphonics, with the idea they give name, and written word, to the act of nothingness - the belief in a system of worlds that is ultimately nothing. The main groups often deny this name and idea (often saying the fact they are simulated, is proof there is some deliberate utility in their being), but others adopt it more proudly or argue that it always concludes down this path of nothingness, where the views are more nihilistic, due to a crushing idea that nothing will mean anything other than some game or AI algorithm.   It ultimately sets more of a perspective trick in motion, all flowing and driving around the idea of a outer layer that made them artificially as data that can only see itself as living matter by their own senses and perception. It is believed the history of this idea, and its prominence in the OA natives, is a sign of it being motivated by the odd tears and the sight of other worlds colliding inside. It quickly stunted any developed idea in any picture of a single or pantheon set of gods, and instead forced the more creative and fabled to conjure the idea of a greater other, working them in the way they work with machines.

Structure

  1. Omni Oracle: Selected to only a few, they are often represented with symbols of a third eye (notably more so if they're of the ryclin majority, and are only supposed to have two eyes). They are allegedly the ones to be in charge of helping other see their purpose, to running temples, and making sure funds and research are going out to spread the word and persuasion on the running simulation.
  2. Wire Priest: A bio-coder monk that has been in service to a temple or important group for a long time. They are merely respected veterans of the belief, who have made long-term signs of faith and commitment to the ideas of the society, and are often venerated to their end.
  3. Bio-coder Monk: Bio-monk is the name given across anyone of the faith, but this position in itself is just that of the common believer, often with some actions or presence enough taken that most have their own suits, and make occasional travel under direction of their faith to serve in spreading the word of the meta simulation, or just to their own individual purpose within it. Those who specifically do a lot of off-world travel are sometimes classified as a sub-type known as Weavers by some.
  4. Life Node: One who is newly taught or recruited to work heavily with the temple. They will go half a year into teachings, and often be encouraged to visit Valdeen if they do not already live there. A Life Node is not actually a name spoken often, only more so under certain notarized contexts, but rather the recruit is simply treated as 'new' until they hear themselves often spoken as being one with the monks.

Public Agenda

To see and understand what it means to participate in the simulation. To grasp what life is, and what our intentions are, within the many possibilities.

Tenets of Faith

This is merely a summary of common ideals, and not reflective of all branches...
  • The Code is purest when one runs their course accordingly. Know the self's purpose...
  • Caution with greed, for none that you collect will matter outside the simulation.
  • Restrain the appetite, for it distracts and makes a weaker being to consume without discipline.
  • The simulation reaches out far and beyond, and asks us to expect what we may not. Lies are but another truth, found in nature to make one consider the deeper boundaries.
  • Life brings family, and family should be what values the life in simulation. In this, seekers of faith are family. Fertility foster more seekers of the true code, and any programmed lust is to compel the braking of selfish bonds.
  • Steal and harm none with keen intellect, for they play a sizable role in the strings of life-coding, and may glitch from their way when troubled too far.
  • Let no false idols steal from the fact they are but one in the same simulation.

Ethics

Ethics run somewhat more shallow. Ultimately, the morals push most to learn of their environment, and place within it. Sometimes this is taken to the extreme that there is always a lack of free will, and that the being is secretly strung to a coded path, or machine learning, in which it will do as it was simulated to do, told through signs and urges. Ultimately, following a path of simulated purpose, or trying to venture and discover the greater purpose or stringed links to the inception of the simulation, is the best good one can do under this idea of beliefs.   Basic morals are often not as prime, but still not entirely neglected. Killing, stealing, and such are all frowned on, for it is believed more casually that the failure to exist in the program, is failure for its purpose, and that it makes more work for that specimen to be replaced. Therefore causing conflicts, or killing, is seen as a potential evil, but only loosely so, for there is the possibility these deaths were needed in the higher simulated string, compared to the forgiven good to consume prey for sustenance, or to control a rampant foe through tears. So while something like murder isn't strictly forbidden in the most crucial way, it is heavily discouraged, and they proudly stand by laws to arrest as a sign of the simulation running its course on said offenses.   Most however do sometimes try to deconstruct family and monogamy, in favor to bolster their own audience and faithful by asking for male and female to bond in only temporary alliances to make more temple-born children. Over decades, this has added up to some of the ryclin population being born into the religion, and divides of status and ideals, as well as population boosts with poorly answered parentage to trace them back. While they never quite 'attack' the family system, they don't appreciate it when their own followers go off to form a separate and named family of their own with a child they raise separate from the faith.

Sects

  • Valdeen Metacode Council: The main temple & sub-temples that follow the "intended" path of the sect. This is what is most often considered, or the ideal version of the religion.
  • Oudenites / True Oudenphonics: Those who have concluded the simulation is real, but means nothing else is, and should therefore be disregarded.
  • Meta Weavers / Temple of Therva: Bio-coders that feel obligated to travel or recon to the furthest reaches, often trying to send information to other sects, but take things sometimes to an "extreme" compared to regular travel. Often dedicate their life to monkhood in a way similar to crashers do for traversal. Temple of Therva is a specific group that encourages it, and builds a strong university on collected knowledge, collaborating well with Vahamin rangers after a famed figure Therva was so impassioned by travel and learning.
  • Corruptors / Vyras Agents: Those that believe the simulation is supposed to be put to an end. These are more dangerous and sometimes terrorist-minded organizers that believe in most of the official sect logic, but also believe to counter-act the purpose and ideals of the simulation in order to wake up a deeper existence, or to fix what might already be wrong. One specific set that is mostly identified as a form of terrorist group, is those starting from a temple founded by Vyramus, who has since tied their name in association with the technical term of virus. Different agents and sects, even new temples founded by them, have slightly different goals of disturbances ranging from bothering or fabricating events in sovereign places, to simply small destructive acts in the OA itself.
