Landing Retroboosters

Landing Boosters are a parallel development to the Tug Booster, augmenting ships and other objects attempting to deorbit when they do not possess the organic ability to deorbit. Landing Boosters are arrayed around the target and fired for the duration of the descent to slow the reentry velocity. Landing Boosters are often augmented by parachutes or ballutes depending on the gravity and drag coefficient of the atmosphere. Once the boosted object has landed, Landing Boosters can be manually removed and shipped back into orbit to reuse and refuel.   Landing Boosters are frequently used by expeditionary military forces like the Transnational Aerospace Security Alliance (TASA) to deliver supplies to ground forces away from Earth. Landing Boosters are often used in conjunction with ISO4 Containers and can even be used to deliver prefab structures to rapidly establish a pop-up camp on a planetary or lunar surface.
