Tenser's Trueself

7th-level transmutation spell   Casting Time: 6 hours   Range: Touch   Components: V S M (a loom and wand of enchanted willow, a pair of mithril scissors, and 250 gp of labradorite crushed into a fine powder, which the spell consumes)   Duration: Permanent   Classes: Wizard   The caster touches one willing creature and gains an understanding of both the essence of their soul and their perception within society. They then sprinkle a loom with powdered labradorite and draw the threads of this essence out of the target creature to weave them together on the loom, trimming or discarding all threads of others' perception that cause anguish or discomfort for the soul. (The target creature is unconscious and incapacitated during this process.) When the caster is finished weaving, they remove the semi-tangible cloak from the loom and place it over the target creature's body, into which it disappears. The target's body is altered in a way the target chooses within a dreamlike state; when they awake, the spell is complete.   This spell makes it so that others will always perceive the target's gender exactly as the target wishes it to be perceived. It may also alter a number of physical characteristics to better align with the gender of the soul: vocal pitch, hair growth, height, body shape and fat distribution, and/or reproductive organs and capabilities. Additionally, this is the only known way for a being with a mortal Soul to alter their true name, which can be done once within the casting of the spell.   Tenser's Trueself can't be dispelled by any means other than another casting of Tenser's Trueself or a Wish spell.

This is a great spell - I'm sure that many people would love to have that in the real world. On the other hand, it's saddening that other people cause so much discomfort and anguish which needs to be removed by magic in the first place. I like that the spell cannot be undone easily - this further emphasizes that the result of the spell really is the true self, and no-one can take that away again.
