Ohtoku Period

The Ohtoku Period was a period of Scaladosian history between the late 400s to early 600s of the Age of Integrity where the Kingdom of Scalados split into multiple warring factions, roughly divided along the lines of today's Scaladosian dioceses.   The Ohtoku Period was caused by the disappearance of Eldatar Arcturos I in the demonic maze of the Death Knight Dicent Éxni. Without a strong ruler, the Dukes of the various dioceses raised armies to expand their territories. The first major skirmish of the period began when Valòmar Antiochus te-Morigana predicted the rise of his patron goddess Morigana (a major force behind the power of Dicent Éxni in response, the dukes of Valandor and Morigandor allied to invade the territory of Arawndor. Other key civil wars of the era include the secession of Undacítta and Enchalmida from Danundor and Dagnador, respectively.   The Ohtoku Period ended early in the reign of Taimonto the Great, grandson of Arcturo and great-great-grandson of Scala I. After the unification of Valandor and his territory of Lugondor brought on by the surprise appointment of Valòmar Raïana te-Lugos, Taimonto and his warriors rode south in a sweep towards the sea and conquered Danundor and Undacítta. With the forces of the southern and more populous half of the Kingdom united, they were able to subdue the rebels in the northern half of the country and bring peace to the region.
