Graz'zt

Grazz't, Dark Prince of Carceri, is a powerful and particularly cruel Demon Lordwho feeds on both the pleasure and the humiliation of the damned souls of Carceri.   He appears as an impossibly beautiful Human man with obsidian skin and short, deerlike antlers. He has three prehensile tails that peek out from a short black loincloth, his only article of clothing. His weapon, the Wave of Sorrow, is a hooked, serpentine greatsword that is said to suck joy from the wounds of its victims.   Graz'zt resides in the Acid Caverns of Carceri, where traitors and predators hang in cages that slowly lower into the acid. He picks victims out through the wailing and weeping and bargains with them, typically forcing them to humiliate themselves in various ways for a chance at freedom.   When they have groveled and pleaded enough, he releases them from their cage with an obsidian key and leads them to the Demon city of Zelatar, within his secret dream-realm of Azzgurat. Nothing is forbidden in Zelatar besides moderation. There is fine food and wine, captivating entertainment, and hedonistic pleasures of the flesh, all offered by demons in many forms who present a false air of comfort and welcome to the mortals among them. However, the damned souls who partake soon find no pleasure in these comforts—only an unceasing yearning for more and more, at any cost.   The cult of Graz'zt is one of the more imminently appealing archdemon cults for mortals. He and his city of pleasure are often depicted in art and visual media, particularly pornography. Legends of him traveling to the Material Plane to seduce innocent, unwitting mortals are as likely to be fantasies as cautionary tales. Cults of Graz'zt meet in secret underground societies whose members wear elaborate leather masks to hide their identities. Many members of these cults learn Enchantment magic, inspired by the Dark Prince's charm and manipulative power.
