Enheduanna

Enheduanna is an Aasimar priestess who leads the College of the Holy Mother in Cape Hildegard.   She is widely considered the city's spiritual leader, having served on the Council of Deans since Y848. Though the head of a temple serving the Pioneer Dynasty does not typically use the title, she is often affectionately called Prima Enheduanna by her students and colleagues.

Characteristics

Appearance

Enheduanna stands 6'7" feet tall, with porcelain skin and shoulder-length platinum hair. She dresses in the gold robes of the College of the Holy Mother, and carries a fig wood staff.

Personality

Enheduanna is warm and kindly, even to strangers. She approaches all situations with an eye towards justice, compassion, and balance.   She dislikes excess, but has little attachment to the trappings of asceticism often associated with a monastic lifestyle. She has a particular fondness for sweets.

Skills

Though she is officially a Cleric, she fights in the style of a Warrior Monk, wielding a bo staff.

History

Early Life and Education

Enheduanna is one of the Triplets of Threnlíla, blessed at birth by Lugos of the Wild Dynasty. She was raised at Threnlíla-in-Lugos by her mother and father, Prima Heloise and Father Abelard. She began her studies as a Cleric of Lugos, but transferred to the monastic training program at Muilóna-in-Brigida in Y582 after a shared prophetic dream with her mother called her towards the goddess of knowledge.

Citadel of the Wild

After her Y604 matriculation from Muilóna, Enheduanna spent several decades training to join the Phalanx of the Wild. However, because of her unusual education path and exalted status as the aasimar daughter of a Prima, it took until Y722 for her to be assigned to a squadron.

Expulsion from the Citadel

In Y740, Enheduanna and her Phalanx squadron discovered Valòmar Onimaru having a secret love affair with Prima Kinu of Eldínar-in-Danu. The squadron decided to report the affair to the next person they were charged with protecting, Petoros Lebëmne. Since Petoros was the youngest and most recently exalted member of the Lebëmya, he felt uncomfortable sharing the information with the others and kept it to himself.   Enheduanna became frustrated with the Lebëmne's refusal to hold the Valòmar accountable. She vented these frustrations in a letter to her sister Lucina, then an assistant theologian at Eldanír-in-Danu. However, Prima Kinu intercepted this letter before it reached Lucina, and demanded that Valòmar Onimaru expel her from the Citadel and disband her squadron.

Pilgrimage and Cape Hildegard

After her expulsion, Enheduanna traveled the world, trying to find a spiritual home outside of the Wild Dynasty. Like so many seekers of knowledge and truth before her, Enheduanna eventually arrived in Cape Hildegard. She climbed Mount Scivias and meditated for twenty-one days before hearing the voice of the goddess Hildegard, speaking as she once spoke to the founders of Cape Hildegard:
Knowledge is faith. Faith is tenacity. As long as you seek, the answer may still come.   Your answer is here, Enheduanna, daughter of love; continue to guide and protect the truthseekers, as you always have done.
She pledged her faith to Hildegard upon the mountaintop, returned to tell the elders at the College of the Holy Mother about her vision, and has remained at the temple-campus since.
