Elemental

An elemental is a creature made of energy from one or more of the Elemental Planes.
There are four elemental languages, considered related through the Primordial family: Terran, Aquan, Ignan, and Auran. Elementals always understand the language related to their element or elements, though some also understand Common or another language (such as Sylvan) if their territory encompasses or borders another plane. All elementals, even motes with little to no sapience, fundamentally understand simple concepts and commands in their native language because of the elemental magic imbued in the words themselves.
In special cases where the elemental planes touch another plane, beings can be created who blur the line between elemental and another type of creature, in the same way that a tiefling is influenced by fiends or an aasimar is influenced by celestials.. The most famous example is the Nymphs of the Feywild, a group of Fey creatures with elemental heritage: peléans from the plane of fire, dryads from the plane of earth, rusalkae from the plane of water, and sylphs from the plane of air.
