Duomo te-Arwë
The Duomo te-Arwë (Elvish, "dome of riches") is a luxury shopping centre in the Cuarto Almaviva district of Cantonova. It is home to the flagship stores of several famous designers, mostly of Moon Elf origin, including famous Omnidress inventor Cyrano Chastain. It is also home to the finest Elven Jewelrymaking outside of the Kingdom of Scalados.
Architecture
The central concept for the complex was designed by the architect Arturo in the distinctive domed style of Cantonovan architecture. It is modeled after a planewalker's description of Titania's castle in the Summer Court, built in the shape of a giant cross with smaller domes at the end of each arm and a much larger dome over the central plaza. Scenes from stories of the Feywild are depicted in the mosaic tiles of each central walkway, and fancifully designed Fey creatures can be seen in the skylights above. The celadon-quartz marble fountain at the center is carved into a likeness of the Tree of All Seasons, with homes for several Pixies within its branches.
Tourism
The Duomo te-Arwë is considered a must-see among wealthy visitors to the city of Cantonova. Its designers are some of the most sought-after in the world, and few fashion-conscious royals or ambassadors leave the city without making a visit to the shopping center. Middle-class and lower-class visitors also visit, admiring the architecture and hoping to catch a glimpse of a Cantonovan celebrity.
Every year during the second week of June, the Duomo te-Arwë and the nearby Royal Phoenix Theater host a fashion show called the Royal Cantonova Design Invitational, known to the fashion industry as "RCDI," "the Invitational," or merely "the Big Show." Designers from across Belcantas travel to Cantonova to showcase new designs and sell their wares on the main walkways of the Duomo te-Arwë, while each night the theater hosts live music and fashion events. According to urban legend, the archfey of the Summer Court often attend these events in disguise as mortals; people have claimed to see Verenestra, Arobãn, and even Titania herself.
