Conte
A conte is the son of a Count and Countess, in the same way that a prince is the son of a King. The title is primarily in use in places where counts hold significant power, such as in Cantonova.
In Cantonova, all sons of the count are referred to as conte, regardless of whether or not they will inherit the title of Count. The eldest conte succeeds his father as Count Almaviva on his twenty-fourth birthday or upon his marriage, whichever comes later. Should the previous count die before his son is of marriageable age, the eldest son gains the official title Conte-Royal, but does not participate in the Council of Wargraves until his twenty-fourth birthday, at which point he is crowned Count regardless of his marriage status (though his mother, if still alive, remains the Countess until he marries).
