Hierarch Oskamos

Hierarch Osakamos was a mummy lord and a high priest of both Caliphar II and Vhakizla the Valiant. Originally from Thanatos, he served important functions in both regimes, marshaling religious support for both his undead masters.

Description

Like all Thanasian mummies, Hierarch Osakamos was swaddled head-to-toe in ceremonial wrappings. The wrappings covered every inch of his skin, save for his right eye, which blistered with unlife. During his time as hierarch in Vhakizla, he wore a bronze headdress, styled to appear as a pair of leathern wings. He often walked with a staff to support his twisted frame and, when he spoke, his voice rasped from desiccated lungs.

History

Second Age

Very little was known about Osakamos before Caliphar II appointed him hierarch of his new church. For his part, Osakamos was a capable enough priest, leading the confused and conflicted people of Izla in the worship of their new god-king.
Upon the dracolich's arrival, however, Osakamos changed his allegiance, as did most of necrostate's undead aristocracy. Forswearing the vampire and devoting himself to the dracolich, Osakamos retained his position as hierarch and became of the dragon's three sycophants, alongside Logisticos Tefar and Strategos Kharix. His efforts to convert the populace to the worship of the cruel and distant dragon, however, were not received so warmly.

Character

Personality

A crusty academic, Osakamos was prone to long, droning tirades about the minute history of this region or that. He possessed a vast encyclopedia of lore, not merely about Vhakizlan history but also Thanasian rituals, practices and customs. To non-Thanasians, though, he was forbidden from speaking about these secrets.
During his reign, Osakamos was quite fond of Caliphar II, believing the vampire wretch to be the beginning of a new epoch of necrocracy here on Sapphros.

Abilities

As a mummy lord, Hierarch Osakamos possessed a wide range of abilities. In addition to his dreadful gaze and his mummy rot, the hierarch wielded the full powers of an archpriest, allowing him to call down plagues, raise the dead and wither his enemies with necrosis. What's more, he commanded a cabal of mummies and priests, all devoted to his will and the will of his patron.

• Vhakizla: After meeting him in Vhak, Hierarch Osakamos was the Menagerie's guide in Izla, assisting them in their efforts to track down and crush the Sanguine rebels.
