Phoenix Of Exile

Kusumoto Namiko (a.k.a. The Phoenix, The Last Son Of The Namiko, The Namiko Family's Vengence)

The Phoenix Of Exile, former name Namiko Kusumoto (なみこ くすもと), was once a hit-man that worked for the Namiko Family within the town of Hellwood, the post-war settlement of what used to be Hollywood, California. Despite his upbringing as a Yakuza punk, he would end up becoming seen as a hero after undergoing several incidents, fighting off not only Living Ice, but coming in aid to those within The Refounded.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

His body's condition is rather strong, despite various scars and cuts that cover his body from years of training and fighting. Although he doesn't have the muscle, he makes up for it with his speed and agility, able to cut down someone quickly from how quick he moves. His left arm is a bit weaker due to the bone being snapped during the Night Of Fire, and despite his efforts to take care of his arm, it still has issues to this day.

Identifying Characteristics

Along his neck and trailing along to his back, he has a large tattoo of a phoenix lighting up in flames as it bursts forth from hellfire. His right ear has two dark-blue colored earrings stuck onto it.

Apparel & Accessories

He tends to wear various old-fashioned black dress pants and coat when he's in town, wearing heavy boots. He wears a red shirt underneath the coat, with a necklace around his neck that holds a red Edenite gem, a blue crystal, and a green gem attached to it. His belt is made of leather and has a silver buckle holder on it. Covering his arms are thick, heavy leather gloves that protect him from the elements.
When he is out and about in the vast wilderness, he wears a thick leather coat with a hood and shoulder-pads made out of wool. The coat goes down all the way to his legs, where he wears the same heavy boots as he does with his more casual wear. He carries his weapons and his change of clothes in a bag whenever he goes anywhere, ready to change in and out of them in a moment's notice. In either case, he wears a red oni mask over his mouth and nose.

Specialized Equipment

There are three notable weapons that he has on hand, ready to draw them out if needed. His most important one is a long painted katana forged from Depthmektal and lined with Flame Edenite, of which he will pour a flammable material on to light his weapon on fire before he dives into combat. Just as important is the bladed buckler he keeps on hand, colored a deep red and forged from various strong metals that allow him to deflect attacks and jab at those near him if needed. Lastly, he keeps on hand a semi-automatic pistol, which he tends to use in emergencies.

Personal history

Early Life

Born as Namiko Kusumoto in 1972, he lived under the home of his father, Namiko Izuhara in the town of Hellwood. Izuhara was the captain of the Namiko Family under the Kai Alliance; one of the major criminal organizations that lived in Hellwood, alongside Dead Souls, Dinosaurs, and El Miasma de Hollywood. For years, Kusumoto lived in relative peace in Hellwood despite the dangers that befell those outside of the city, learning from his father some of the things he knows well, including how to properly wield and use a gun and a katana. Despite some resistance from his father, he would end up joining the Kai Alliance in 1988 under the Namiko Family banner. He would gain the tattoo of the phoenix on his back shortly afterward.

The things that Kusumoto would do for the alliance ranged from giving the businesses in the area protection, to shakedowns on the rival gangs in the area, and to the lesser-common hits that he would partake in. While they were rare, they would oftentimes be needed for the sake of the family's business in Hellwood. Unfortunately, things would not last forever for him. In 1990, the three rival gangs within Hellwood would all form into The Mephistopheles, led by the leader of the Dead Souls, Jackson Roberts. They would get into heavy conflict with the Kai Alliance for the next few months, bashing heads with them ferociously. Kusumoto would fight valiantly against the members of the Mephistopheles, defending his brethren within the Alliance with all of his might.

Night Of Fire

Unfortunately, things would come to a head on September 4th, 1990. On what would be known as the Night Of Fire, The Mephistopheles would end up going on a heavy offensive against the Kai Alliance, slaughtering a vast majority of the Yakuza within it, including those in the Namiko Family. Kusumoto was one of the few survivors of the event, having witnessed everyone near and dear to him be slaughtered like rats as The Mephistopheles took over all of Hellwood. The worst of this for Kusumoto was seeing his own father being killed by Jackson Roberts, before being attacked by him. Although he fought valiantly, the fight ended when Jackson smashed Kusumoto's left arm with a hammer, snapping it in half and forcing him to escape from the battle. Forced into exile, Kusumoto would flee into the wilds, never to be seen for five years.

What he did during those five years isn't well known, with varying reports on his whereabouts throughout the entirety of America. Most agree that he spent the next five years training in the wilderness alone, becoming stronger with his weaponry and preparing himself for his eventual strike against The Mephistopheles. Though unconfirmed, some say that he left the main land and attempted to go west.

Return

On November 2nd, 1995, the headquarters of The Mephistopheles would be raided by a strong warrior, whose blade was lit aflame before he stepped inside. His description matched what was known about Kusumoto, including the clothes and his method of attacking; which involved a quick, nimble yet brutal fighting style that took out the opponent's arms before a fatal blow to the chest. Several members within The Mephistopheles were slaughtered, and the headquarters were burned down by him; forcing the surviving members of the gang, as well as Jackson Roberts, to relocate to the older base of the former Dead Souls gang. To those within Hellwood, he became seen as a symbol of rebellion against The Mephistopheles, which has fueled the constant conflicts going on in Hellwood to this day.

Named the Phoenix Of Exile by the surviving members of the Kai Alliance, Kusumoto would leave Hellwood after he exacted revenge upon The Mephistopheles. Although he hadn't been able to get at the head of the gang, he managed to put a huge dent in their operations and ensued that they would have a constant struggle for the near future. Nowadays, he assists those within The Refounded's land, fighting off Living Ice and the occasional mad horde of barbarians that wander the land. He resides in New Miami for the time being, waiting for the next opportunity to unsheath his katana to aid those around him.

Sounds complex. The story involving The Mephistopheles is very detailed. I wonder if you will attempt making that into a single piece.   I also miss the weight indicator near the 189.59. These are pounds, right?
