Barovia
An impenetrable fog forever surrounds the valley where the lands of Barovia lie, nestled deep within a craggy mountain range. Still, dark woods cover the valley and evergreen trees climb the rugged mountains around it. Dark, rolling thunderclouds cloak the land. And between the twin peaks, Baratok and Ghakis, fed by icy streams, sits Lake Zarovich, a large body of water on whose southern edge rests the town Vallaki. West of the twin mountains, the Abbey of Saint Markovia stands atop a hill surrounded by the walled village, Krezk. Between these two cities, the ruins of Argynvostholt, the fallen bastion of the Order of the Silver Dragon can be found, and east of these mountains, lying within the dark forbidding shadows of the castle that sits a thousand feet above it, lies the town of Barovia. The imposing edifice that dominates the surrounding landscape is known as Castle Ravenloft.
