Continents of Odezia

Erumir

The continent of Erumir comprises a large peninsula and several archipelagos. With its landmasses it surrounds the Temiss Sea, and is in its entirety encompassed by the Ekuran and Soundless Ocean. To the west, Erumir is divided from the continent of Namda by the Deldoan and Missnean Sea, as well as by the Vaspor Mountains. The mountains form the only land connection to the other continent.
Surrounded by so much water, it comes as no surprise that Erumir is home to many sea-faring and sea-dwelling cultures. For centuries, landwalkers and merfolk have been at odds with one another, fighting over both land and water territories. In the past century, peace had finally been established, but recently tension has been rising once more.
Inland folk, on the other hand, don’t bother themselves with sea relations that much, as they have other concerns on their minds. Rivers have been flooding extensively the past years, and crop yields have diminished. Pilgrimages to Enthuri, the home of the Mother and the Father, have increased to atone and regain the favour of the gods.

Fergel

Located mainly near the equator and largely on the southern hemisphere, Fergel has a hot climate, ranging from tropical forests in the north to arid deserts in the south. The continent is surrounded by the Soundless and Southern Ocean and divided by two large mountain chains. It is not directly connected to any other continent, but only a small strait called Rattler's Passage divides it from the continent of Taklasil.
Fergel is home to many nomadic cultures, legendary serpents of the deserts, and the source of many precious stones. However, it is also infamously known as the home of the late Kingdom of Haruran, and their ruthless magi hunts, which took place centuries ago, but still feel like open wounds to the descendants of refugees and survivors in both Fergel, Taklasil and other parts of the world.

Namda

As the largest continent in Odezia, Namda comprises many different landscapes and peoples. To the east, Namda borders Erumir, from which it is divided by the Deldoan and Missnean Sea, and the Vaspor Mountains. To the west, it borders Taklasil, from which it is divided by the Elonn, Zynean and Maillisi Sea, as well as by the Prinnus Mountains.
Home to four different peoples, Namda has the most diverse inhabitants in Odezia. Discord between the peoples of Namda has always been rare, with a few exceptions, and nowadays most conflicts are resolved civically. Conflict between different groups within a peoples, however, is common, and Namda has its own rich history of blood and war.
Ever since the start of the current era, Namda has played an important role in the shaping of history. Hidden underneath its earth, Namda has the largest deposits of sun crystals. Today, most of it is exported abroad. The global influence of Namda has seen another increase since a few decades ago, when an Avantarlan scientist discovered steam power. The industrial revolution has truly begun and new scientific breakthroughs are made almost each day.

Taklasil

Taklasil is the continent with one of the harshest landscapes in the world. Rough mountains in the north make way for arid deserts in the south. Most of the population lives in the small habitable belt in between these two environments, or near the eastern and western coastlines. There are still a few cultures who make the desert their home, but this number has been decreasing rapidly over the past decades with people seeking the comfort of developing cities. This is especially true for harbour cities on the eastern coast, where trade with Namda across the Zynean Sea is thriving.
Taklasil used to be famous for their unique magi; elementals. However, no such magus has been seen in almost a century, and they are now only the topic of many myths and legends.

Places beyond the map

It is possible other continents exist beyond the oceans. Few adventurous individuals strongly believing this to be true have set out on voyages to find new land. But the oceans are treacherous and even fewer adventurers made their way back, talking of monsters and death. Not malevolent creatures, though, but monsters which hunt during the day: the Rulers of the Deep Blue.
