Cortés' Expedition
Cortés' Expedition, preferred the Spanish Expedition, is a large expeditionary force complied of conquistadors, sailors and slaves that act as a military force for Cortés' expedition to Ocrea. They became one of the first ever Europeans to ever land on the island, as well as the first to bring firearms onto the continent, and have since transformed themselves into a fully militarized army when they gained a foothold on the continent, reporting directly to Cortés, and started to become a very efficient fighting force.
The expedition reached its peak in 1534, following Cortés' promotion to a lord over all Spanish holdings in Ocrea, at over 6,000 loyal conquistadors in Ocrea alone, not including scholars or merchants, that act as guards to Spanish administrations and businesses on the continent.
Public Agenda
The entire goal of the expedition was to find and colonize the discovered Ocrea, as well as find potential gold deposits, but that goal faded away as they realized that the land was already occupied by rival clans that fight for control of the continent, so they turned to a more "sympathetic" motivation to help the clans in their struggle for control, primarily the Shajin clan.
Assets
As conquistadors, the expedition has access to a variety of weapons from Spain, which was compiled of steel swords, pikes and halberds for close quarters, while their ranged weapons were primarily the matchlock musket and the crossbow, and their armor was mostly a heavy iron breastplate and a helmet of any kind, mostly a morion, following the militarization of the expedition.
History
The expedition was formed when Cortés disobeyed orders from Governor Velázquez and transformed themselves from a Spanish expedition to Cortés' expedition, taking on anyone who wanted to search for land and glory, including officials from the island of Cuba who were sent to arrest him. Numbering at over 600 conquistadors, the expedition stood out as one of the strongest expeditionary forces to sail for exploration since Christopher Columbus and were due to last a long time with the many supplies and resources from Cuba.
