Tsong Xiao
Her Excellency Madam Xiao Tsong (a.k.a. Tsong Mengnü)
Tsong Xiao is, in theory, a minor vassal of Yu Shanwei, the king of Kung. However, despite ruling only a single commandery, she is accorded greater honor than all save her king himself, a consequence of her silver tongue and cunning wit. It is widely believed that Tsong Xiao can talk her way out of, or into, anything she desires. Her ambitions, though, do not end with influence.

Tsong Xiao is defined by two mental traits: her intelligence and her decisiveness. Her intelligence has served her well throughout her life, seeing her rise through the ranks of the provincial administration before changing course and serving with valor beneath the Coalition. She has an uncanny knack for getting inside the heads of others, which she uses to her advantage. She has some renown for her art, and her military genius earns her acclaim in this war-torn time. Her intelligence is often turned towards these matters of war, and she currently is working on an advanced gunpowder weapon which she calls a Laifu. In combination with her decisiveness, she is able to see the perfect time to act and then do so without hesitation, both on and off the battlefield.
Tsong Xiao's intelligence, however, is also her greatest weakness. She is absolutely aware of her genius, and while her incredible social abilities keep her from coming off as arrogant (for the most part at least), she is seemingly-incapable of acknowledging others as intellectual equals. While this is almost always a correct assessment, when it is not it is disastrous; she almost habitually underestimates those who are capable of most grievously harming her

Tsiong Xiao's greatest vice is without a doubt beautiful men and women. She cannot seem to keep away from the husbands and wives of others, and is something of a notorious rake. This predilection for the pleasures of the bedchamber has its uses, especially for one so unscrupulous and ambitious as her, but more often than not her love of a pretty face is a wrench in her plans rather than an aspect of them.
