Military action
Encroachment on the Elven Kingdom's border by the Erditi Tribesmen of the Rarus Plains set off a series of skirmishes. Open war resulted and lasted for several years. The border remained a contested territory with sporadic fighting for millennia afterward.
Disappearances along the border prompted increased security forces to be dispatched to the region. As it became apparent that the Erditi Tribes were responsible, additional troops were sent and permanent fortifications were erected. When the attacks became bolder, even threatening the new garrisons directly, the King sent the Army to eliminate the threat. After the complete annihilation of one of the Tribes, a message delivered by the Light itself ordered the Elves to cease their campaign. Subsequently, they withdrew back to the border and held a defensive presence that repelled attacks off and on for years afterward. It was also later discovered that the old enemy of the Light had subverted the Tribes and turned them against the Elves purposefully. The Elves were tasked with containing the threat until a way was discovered to reconcile them with the Light and bring peace to the region.
