Ensile
The nation of Ensile is currently a theocracy of a once underground religion known as the Guiding Flame. Although it worships no god of any previous pantheon the clerics in the land are blessed with great magics. The previous monarchy is allowed to live as historic monarchs within their previous palace, although all matters related to government are handled by a cardinal section of the Church.
History
Once under the noble family of Carsierona's rule, the Wayhearth appointed nobility of Absalom slowly began losing favor with the local population as their needs were not being met by the royal family. The people instead were catered to not by the church but by a small underground religious movement following some ancient text that was said to be as old as the world itself. How it managed to survive is unknown and it took the grace of arcane thaumaturgists to begin decyphering the text, but by the time that it was done a new religion was formed. As the religion gained power attempts were made to stomp it out. However, the Innocent Hera Mori led the people in both battle and diplomacy by stopping the international community from sending aid. After 5 years of fighting the Carsierona royal family, the religious rebels overthrew the government but allowed the royal family surviving members to retain their noble titles.
After the new government was recognized as the legitimate by the Suzerain, Hera Mori died in an assassination carried out by a member of the Venerated Vanguard. Following the assassination, he stated that he saw her forget to breath and blink for hours when it was just the two of them. This marked the end of the Ensile golden age. The modern day Ensile sets out a search for the next Innocent after the death of the old one, the current one is Ganon Turnmil who helped crush the revolutionary rebellion in both Absalom and the former nation of Azerin.
