Portal Portraits

Portal Portraits are a way of time-travelling by walking through a photo to go to the exact time the picture was taken or made. They were created by people with Chronos so the average person coud time-travel safely. Although they aren't sold in the average supermarket, there is an entire museum holding many Portraits, making time-travelling a funner experience.   While they look like any other picture, Portal Portraits typically have an old-fashioned clock hidden somewhere in the photo. This shows that a Chronokine has worked on it and turned it into a portal.

Manufacturing process

The creative will simply make a picture of anything, and an experienced Chronokine will then use their powers to open a pathway into that picture. This requires an advanced understanding of how Chronos and time-travelling works in the universe.

History

For many centuries, the luxury of time-travelling was only for the very few experienced users of Chronos. People were further deterred from time-travelling thanks to those who had Chronos, as they continuously warned others of the dangers of being trapped in other timelines. While it is true that there were dangers of time-travelling, many found Chronokines' advice restrictive and patronising.   Portal Portraits were created by Harvey Toska to alleviate the mistrust he and other Chronokines had created between non-Chronokines over the years. As the world was becoming more integrated, a mutual understanding was needed.

Significance

Portrait Pictures are a symbol of trust between Chronokines and non-Chronokines, as it was commonly believed that non-Chronokines would get themselves killed if they started time-travelling. The Portraits are a way for them to time-travel safely, although they can't travel too far back yet.
