War of Three Flames, 1952-1963

The War of Three Flames (alternatively called 'The War of Hellish Aggression' by the Fervent Congregation) began in 1952 VT when the Hell plane Bekat established an interplanar portal connecting to Nohl and launched their initial assault on the Veilran providence of Ciones.   The Hellish Forces were comprised of souls and creatures from three separate Hell planes: Bekat, Chelezo, and Laofe. The devils of Bekat served as commanders while the machine-souls of Chelezo served as officers and the fiends of Laofe as foot soldiers.   The Veilran throne was held by Queen Tzantia Divik when the war began. Tzantia was assaassinated in the year 1958, and her uncle Seiga Divik took the throne to continue the war.   During a lull in the fighting, after the Hellish Forces were largely beaten back into their own planes where they sought to regroup, four powerful Nohlish magic-wielders were able to seal off the connection between the Hells and Nohl permanently. This astonishing feat cost three of the four mages their lives. Those who perished were an Ifrinn cleric named Esca Dreolin, an Elven wizard named Litoreus, and a Silfan witch named Ianthe Hark Turner. The surviving member of the four was a Human druid named Will Tancred. Together, they are known as the Master Quartet.
