Veilsh Language

Humanity knows that different countries and people existed before Valen walked the earth and soil of Nimenra . Although few pieces remain of those countries and people before Valen's time, one is all different in comparison. The ruins of this people remain standing and have done so for many ages. Their language comparingly to other remnants of history is close to impossible to decipher and understand. Will anyone ever know who, and what, these beings was?

Of the people that live in the present, few know the history of Nimenra further than perhaps a thousand years. The more learned nobility and scholars of the time know beyond that, some even into the Jorvik age. The Velish Language, however, is beyond understanding. Whatever people left the ruins that have this unique language inscribed on walls and parchments is long gone. The Tower of Cuthura is one such place where the language is prevalent and is where the only known word has been translated. Or so many believe.

History

Veilsh Language had disappeared long before humans discovered and properly investigated the ruins of the people that used it. Scholars wrote down and copied the first pieces sometime after The War for Marlun had begun and tried to understand what knowledge was kept in the ruins like the Tower of Cuthura. These efforts, however, were not successful, driving scholars to become mad and angered. One dedicated researched believed that he possibly was able to understand the name of the tower, or at least a name that was commonly occurring inside the tower: Cuthura. Since then, the name was stuck. Due to the location of most of the surviving ruins are in the north and under constant threat of the northern tribes, expeditions tread carefully and many do not return at all.

The Name

The name "Veilsh" was first used by the schoolers due to the fact that the language itself was like a veil over all prior understanding of the history of Nimenra. More than that, the name also symbolises the fact that it is clouded in mystery and that the books which have been found written in the language hold the knowledge that is waiting to be found out.

The Alphabet

The alphabet is one of the most problematic parts of this language. Its unique swaying motions to connect, the curly and hard to separate letters have made the language seen more or less as impossible to decipher. While the letters C, U, R and A has been established, or believed to have been established, as understood, no one is sure if the translation is right.

The Others Theory

While the language itself is a mystery that leaves for speculations, some have developed theories around it. One such theory is that of the Others. While the Other Gods usually is related to the War between Gods, this theory relates to that of another, sentient species. Uncomplete sceletons have been found in locations near locations related to the Veilsh language, but scholars have yet to determine if they are human, or not.
