The City of Kratos Settlement in Nexus Reborn: Rise of the Fallen | World Anvil

The City of Kratos

The City of Kratos is the Capital and largest settlement within The Nation of Aetheria. Located near the center of the continent of Aissur, Kratos is a massive city filled with a wide variety of Creatures and Cultures alike. The city is located within a massive crater known as Ironfel Crater , and sits adjacent to the Eastern most edge of the Dead Sea Canyon in the Region known as Zapotec's Wrath.
The City of Kratos is divided into distinct parts or wards, each with its own cultural and socio-economic history. Many of these wards were established while the city was being founded, and some well before the cities existence. Each ward can trace its influenced by the dominant Races or wealthy family located within them, which naturally shaped them into communities of likeminded individuals. As the city grew, old wards were broken up into new smaller wards, while new wards came to be as populations expanded the cities reach.

    Defences

The City of Kratos incorporated the creator it sits within into its natural defenses. The rim of the crator rises some 2,500 to 3,000 feet above the local surface, forming a small mountain range that encircles the city. This makes the few entryways into the the city easier to gard against and the likelihood of a forced siege very unlikely.    Atop the crators rim are dozens of towers and outposts where various Sol keep watch. The entity of the city can be viewed from any one if these towers, allowing for the Sol to spit trouble more easily and quickly respond. The added hight of the rim also gives the Sol a long line of sight to the horizon, up to 70 miles on a clear day. That is enough to see the surrounding villages of Eundermount, Goldfield, and Medowsedge. And this range increases further when looking out onto the Dead Sea Canyon.
