Nadira, the Succubus Spy

"Now start running south and keep running until your legs stop working."
-Nadira, to a mind-controlled Chigiri   Summoned from the pits of the Abyss by Moltor, Nadira was far more crafty and cunning than the average succubus. Her chief role was to use her ability to slip in and out of the Ethereal Plane to spy and steal, bolstered by her ability to shapeshift and disguise herself as a mortal. While she considered herself a lover, not a fighter, she possessed powerful magic spells that made her more than capable of holding her own.   Table of Contents

History

Summoned to Lothal

After several setbacks at the hands of the Headhunters, Moltor and Levira decided they needed some extra help. While Levira created Gulto, Moltor summoned Nadira from the Abyss. She was first seen by Kiri accompanying Moltor while he gave Gulto instructions but quickly teleported away with him.   The Headhunters' first proper encounter with her was at a carnival, where she was disguised as a human along with two women she claimed were her sisters. Nadira helped Hugh Morris win a dancing contest to win his favor, unaware that Kiri recognized her despite her lack of a tail, wings, and horns. Kiri lured her near a well, grabbing her and dragging her in while the rest of the Headhunters distracted her "sisters" and laid down a smokescreen. She immediately fled into the Ethereal Plane, slipping Kiri's grasp.   While Hugh and Kiri chased her minions, Nadira reappeared near Chigiri and put him under a magical charm. She led him away, took his prized mask, and told him to run south and keep running until his legs stopped working. From there, she regrouped with a werejackal minions (one of her "sisters") who escaped from the Headhunters. Nadira was disappointed by their failure to acquire a vial of Hugh's blood but ambushed Hugh alone later that night to steal his blood herself.

Mesogog's Newest Lieutenant

Nadira was next seen alongside Moltor, appearing from the Ethereal Plane to assist her summoner as Artie tried to get the drop on him. Artie attempted to persuade Nadira to betray Moltor, saying she was only being used and would likely only remain alive so long as she was useful. Nadira laughed at his efforts, stating she was now an equal partner and assisting Moltor in his attempts to kill Sir Hunter von Huntington until their injuries forced the pair to retreat.   Artie and Chigiri next encountered her when they took passage on a military ship. Chigiri noticed a small ball of light on the floor as they sat in the hold before Nadira revealed herself, stating the light was a Delayed Blast Fireball spell. She came to retrieve the Grave Orb Chigiri had previously taken from Gulto, promising to leave peacefully if they simply handed the orb over. The two adventurers reluctantly agreed; before she left, Nadira revealed the light was a simple Light spell cast on a pebble and mocked them for falling for her ruse before teleporting away.   Nadira was later present at the Battle of Inkhear, having now implanted a Gravestone into her chest to increase her power. She formed the Morlocks' rearguard alongside Moltor, standing in front of Levira and using her own body as a shield against ranged attacks. She bowed to Mesogog once he was freed and received his congratulations on a job well done, but was forced to retreat with her companions in the aftermath of Artie's kamikaze attack.

Battle at the Dragon Force

Mesogog summoned Nadira to the Dragon Forge as part of his backup. She immediately slipped into the Ethereal Plane and went ahead of the Headhunters while Mesogog kept them talking. Once inside, she dropped a pair of Gravestones in the Forge and used them to summon the Void Beast Alnaar. She proved fire support when Alnaar attacked the Headhunters, fleeing once she realized Chigiri's new sword allowed him to see her in the Ethereal.   She rendezvoused with Mesogog and informed him of the situation in the forge. Mesogog was more interested in taking down Shimmerscale and commanded Nadira to assist. When Mesogog was distracted by the Headhunters and the injured Shimmerscale moved to escape, Nadira tried to execute the dragon but her claws could not pierce Shimmerscale's scales. Shortly thereafter, she teleported away with Mesogog and their remaining minions.

A Surprise Demise

After Moltor's capture suddenly cut off the Morlocks' supply of Molders, Levira ordered Nadira to bring demonic reinforcements from the Abyss. Mira was sent along to keep her on track during this assignment. Unknown to both Levira and Nadira, Mira had already switched her loyalties to Rhith following Mesogog's death. Back in her home realm (where death becomes permanent for otherworldly creatures such as herself), Nadira met a swift end at the edge Mira's magic scimitar. Her head was later found in a chest in Mira's room of the Morlocks' by Vinnie Vice, with a note explaining the situation discovered nearby by Cordelia (though Cordelia kept this to herself and the Headhunters never asked her about its contents).
