Session 50 - Showdown
General Summary
The party faced off against High-Captain Corvus , as blows were traded on both sides. All three of our heroes took some damage, but none as much as what Hamilton Caldwell took, nearly falling unconscious in the process. Eventually, the party was able to beat Corvus, with Hamilton dealing the final blow through the head. Finn scooped up Corvus' greatsword, while Hamilton found some gold and Corvus' badge. With the key now in their possession, the party snuck back downstairs to free Osho! The party freed Kimbryn and Dak from their imprisonment as well, and the entire group filed into the furnace room. There, they planted the Spice Bomb and quickly began fleeing through the sewage pipe. However, as they fled, the opening to the outside was slammed shut just as Osho was able to collapse out of it. On the other side, a magical barrier formed. The party was trapped. Then, the pipe began to move. The party was jostled around and, despite their efforts, were only freed thanks to someone on the outside cracking open the metal lid. As they stepped out, the party saw they were surrounded by what looked like the entire Liberty army. And soon after, walking out over them, was Octavio Talon. He revealed that the person they thought was him was really a double, sent to make appearances when Talon's life could be in danger. He monologued to the party, before revealing his special project. Bursting out from the tallest tower of the castle came Lecter the Great, wearing Finn's cloak. He was beastly, snarling and growling at the party. With a shock of a special collar, Lecter attacked the party! He brutally beat down our already-injured heroes, knocking Hamilton unconscious in the process. With the other two gravely injured, things didn't seem to be going well for the party. Finn managed to pry the collar off of Lecter, sending him into a rampage against the Knights. Then, as Talon was trying to regain control of the situation, a single arrow whizzed by, cracking against Talon's armor. On the opposite wall, the party saw Eleanor, Felk, Puku, Peanut, Maddie Beck, Johnson, and a small army of Skad Murks and Riders. Talon, terrified, demanded the Knights to attack. And so, the true final battle commenced.
