Session 44 - The Fate of Guftuk
General Summary
The Misfits scoured Cliff's Edge looking for signs of Guftuk and the Kindred! Sasha was able to see Guftuk's soul outside of the settlement, and the three set off to find him. They trudged through the snow for a while until they saw a massive Kindred. They attacked it, and faced the beast in an exciting combat! As they fought, Finn discovered Guftuk was helping the Kindred all along! He wrestled with Guftuk while Sasha and Hamilton took care of the Kindred. Suddenly, four Sweetwater Guards appeared and demanded that Finn hand over Guftuk and the Kindred, but the party collectively denied. The party escaped from the Guard as they tried to attack, but were intercepted by Gael! He insisted the party follow him, and although skeptical, they agreed. Everyone went inside a small cave, where Gael explained that The Order wished to take Guftuk away and teach him to control his power. He also alluded to the Order "making the world better for everyone". To show he could be trusted, Gael enhanced Sasha's soul sense significantly. After that, Gael went and dispatched the Guards that saw what happened, then took Guftuk and departed, promising to return to help in the fight against Liberty Castle. The crew slept in the cave for the night, and were found in the morning by Vidar, who helped escort them back to Cliff's Edge. He explained that the Cliff's Edge residents assumed Goodwin had stolen Guftuk, and so they ran them out of town. Everyone got to have their goodbyes as the party prepared to head out. Before they left, they received a few gifts from the residents and a toboggan, which they used to get down the mountain. Despite a rough descent, they were able to make it to the bottom in one piece, get their carriage, and begin the long trek back to HansPuckett to face off against Liberty Castle!
