Session 11 - The Killpit
General Summary
The party sat inside one of the Red Fangs' carriages, on their way to Emmett! As they traveled, they met Mercy, one of Tinheart's people. She tried to stay tight-lipped, but Hamilton's mention of his career peaked her interest, letting down her walls a bit.
As they closed in on Emmett, Tinheart pulled to convoy over and addressed the Red Fangs. He explained that they are not to tip off any Freebooters to their presence, and remain as low-profile as possible.
When the party entered Emmett, they saw just how awful the place was. Blood stained the muddy streets, weapons were flung to and fro, and all the while people laughed and reveled in the carnage. Tinheart parked the carriage near the Killpit, covering the carriage in a tarp and removing one of its wheels. He then brought the party inside to explain their job.
The party would all be signing up to fight in the Killpit, a fighting arena in Emmett. All they would need to do is beat the combatant they're matched with to earn a cash reward, thus repaying their debt to him. In addition, the party would be able to participate in the Tournament of Emmett, assuming they can qualify by impressing the crowd enough.
From there, the party was free to explore Emmett. They decided to stop by the SlawterHaus, the only bar in the settlement, where they met a Servo bartender named Schmidty. From there, they met a one-legged woman named Blanche. After briefly mentioning their search for Oscar Barnette, Blanche told them to meet her around midnight that night to learn more.
After that, it was time for the party to fight in the Killpit! Sasha fought another Ka-Tar named Many-Blades, and she defeated him handily. Skinny faced Felicity, a Rider, and had no other choice but to kill her. Finally, Hamilton fought a large, brutish woman named Mama.
After all three of the party won their fights, they were told the results would be posted the following morning, giving them the rest of the day to relax and prepare for that night.
As they settled in with the Red Fangs for the night, Hamilton noticed something that made his heart sink: a wanted poster with his face on it!
