The Sludgepits
Infernal Realm of Anathexia
It is a realm of sickening repulsivity, melting corpses, and infectious winds, and it is ruled over by the Plagueweaver Anathexia from her seat in the Throne of Leeches. The realm is beset by haunting shrills of slug demons and the wailing of rotting mortals as their flesh is stripped from their bones. From this rotting nightmare realm, Anathexia sends out her hideous plagues, carried by her repulsive creatures. Reaching this plane is difficult for mortals but not impossible. Some reach the Sludgepits by means of magic while others are transported by Lady Pestilence herself. Though unlike many other Infernal realms, when mortals are unlucky enough to enter its slimy gates, they are sometimes allowed to leave, often to spread new plagues granted by Anathexia.
Geography
The Sludgepits are best characterized by rivers of acid, winds of plague, and volcanoes of noxious blood. The ground is a sludge-like substance which is difficult to walk through though the slug demons feel right at home trudging through it. Breathing without magical assistance or divine help from Anathexia is extremely difficult, if a mortal breathes in the air unassisted, it will melt them from the inside.
Fauna & Flora
The aforementioned slug demons serve as the most autonomous entities in the Sludgepits. The most sentient of servants to be found there, the slug demons roam the rotting ground of the realm and carry spears and magical staves that emit plagues and blasts of vomit to repel any unwanted guests. Otherwise, there exists flora in this realm but it is utterly alien to anything found anywhere else in the known cosmos. For example, the trees in the Sludgepits have poisonous leaves that don't grow fruit; instead, they grow eyeballs that cry acid.
