The Senate District

This article is a part of Summer Camp 2023 and is still a work in progress.
When Daant Arga was abandoned, it was decided that the most logical place for the Senate and the rest of the population to go was Rasnes Betha. Of course, while the two planets shared many similarites, a love of the government was not one of them. This was especially true post-Collapse as many came to blame the Senate for the massive loss of technology across the Cluster. Although the act had saved countless lives and stopped Baen Arleth and his Horde in its tracks, it also caused its own death and chaos. And the Senate made for a convenient target.   Many citizens of Rasnes Betha did not support the move and arranged protests but the then Governor of the planet, Hery Brogan, was adamant in the move. Historians now theorize that this was because his older brother, Roby, was one of the Senators from Rasnes Betha at the time. Despite these protests, a section of the capital Peragine was slated for demolition and turned into a region for the Senate's use. This action sparked further protests that continued throughout the years of the construction of what eventually would become the modern Senate District in Peragine.   At the center of the district sits the Silver Sanctum, new home for the Senate chamber and their offices. Unlike the previous headquarters for the Senate on Daant Arga - The Moon Tower - this building only contains the main Senate chamber and the offices for the highest members of the Senate. Constructed out of Dynasmesium, much like its predecesor , the Silver Sanctum is a gleaming silver beacon at the edge of what is known as the heart of Peragine.   Around the Silver Sanctum are the buildings that make up the remainder of the Senate District. These buildings include:
  • Larger buildings that contain the officers of all of the other members of the Senate, each organized by their different star systems. With a few entire systems and sometimes merely planets in those systems pulling out of the Senate, many parts of these buildings have been left standing empty.
  • Smaller office buildings contain offices for different organizations that work underneath the Senate, such as the {insert something here later}.
  • The Armory is a massive structure that takes up a corner of the Senate district along with more smaller buildings just off it, as well as a small training ground. This is the headquarters for the Silver Soldiers post-Collapse.
  • Residental structures (many saved from demolition when the district was established) are scattered around the district. These are used for any Senators or other staff who are visiting from off planet to attend the Senate.
