What is the Inner System

The Inner System is the core most four planetary systems in the Orionis Cluster. These were the first four systems that were settled by the original New Terra Mission members as well as their descendants, starting with the Alalus System in 11 AFT when the Arks arrived in the system. This period of settlement lasted until 226 AFT when the last planet in the Hani System was settled. From that final settlement in 226 AFT until 321 AFT, this section of the Cluster was the only occupied territory in the new region until the decision was made to expand further outward to avoid over population.

Geography

The Alalus System is placed in almost the exact center of the Orionis Cluster (original calculations from the New Terra Mission put it so few degrees off that they ignored the calculation and just called it the center). In regards of spatial directions in the Cluster, the Hani and Leporis Systems are referred to as being Outerward in reference to their proximity to where the Inner System turns into the Outer Range. Despite cardinal directions not being useful in space, Hani is often phrased as northern Outerward since it is located above Alalus on maps and Leporis southern Outerward because it is located below. The last system in this region, Ortasto, is referred to as southern Deepsward, thanks to its position on maps and proximity to the Deeps Range.
