The Church of Nyaan

The Order of Nyaan consists of a coalition between all churches who worship Nyaan and the Nyaanic Council (Nyaanic pronounced N-yaa-nic). The Nyaanic Council is composed of an Overseer, who ensures the path of the Order is right and keeps the entire organization in working order, and six other Counselors to support the Overseer.   The Church of Nyaan prominently controls Tajatka and Acadia. It also maintains a small following in Liberas as well. The headquarters of the Order of Nyaan is in Tajatka

Divine Origins

The Order of Nyaan was created for the sole purpose of enforcing the will of Nyaan . and her supposed doctrines. The first leader of the Order of Nyaan was said to be the first Raposa to meet the Goddess Nyaan. He was Overseer Khiran, he who founded the order and its principles. His dream after meeting Nyaan was to bring equality among all races, to keep peace between nations, and purge the darkness that would break the desired tranquility he wished for. In order to properly make these dreams reality, he needed an organization that would enforce it. And thus, he created the Order of Nyaan.

Nyaanic Arbiters

The Order of Nyaan would achieve its goals through the cultivation of Raposan warriors that would hunt down the darkness of the world and protect the innocent. These are warriors that would be trained from birth to enforce the will of Nyaan, and are known as the Nyaanic Arbiters. They are highly trained and are beyond dangerous. Arbiters usually travel in pairs when doing the work of the Order. They are well equipped and are experienced with many forms of combat, ranging from martial arts and any type of bladed weaponry. They are able to take down a Starhunter, although only through proper preparation and a lot of underhanded tactics. While Arbiters might be extremely dangerous, they have been groomed to be proper gentlemen and selflessness is in their blood. It would not be an unusual sight to see an Arbiter giving out money to some poor sap on the street. Since Arbiters only number around the 50-60s, they have been officially assigned as the personal enforcers of the Nyaanic Council.   Arbiters are equipped with a High-Grade weapon of their choice, several concealed daggers on their person, milk, a lot of money, basic medicine for wounds and poisons, and a really flashy, white trench coat. The trench coat has many practical uses, such as concealing many weaponry and other items, has an internal fur liner to keep them warm and help muffles their movement, and helps dull physical attacks.

Sentinels

Nyaanic Sentinels are the guardians of each Nyaanic church. They are the volunteer men and women that protect the church and settlement that they are residing in. If a force is too great for them to fend off on their own, they will send word to the other churches. In return, the Nyaanic Council will send Arbiters to deal with the problem.   Nyaanic Sentinels are heavily armored and are meant to protect from many physical attacks. The armor itself is for defense and not mobility, unlike the Arbiter's gear. Nyaanic Sentinels are equipped with a medium-grade sword and shield that can be easily replaced. Please note that the armor of a Nyaanic Sentinel is not that flashy.

Tenets of Faith

The churches follow a set of basic rules set by the order. If a crime is committed against the Order of Nyaan and Her people, depending on the severity of the offence they will either be sentenced to service until they have paid their dues or be executed on sight.
  • If an object or any property of the Order or church is stolen, the offender will be sentenced to service of goodwill until the object is paid back in twice it's amount.
  • If a person is being unnecessarily toxic or aggressive, they will be forced to leave the church.
  • If a person burns down the church or kills any members, they will be executed on sight.
  • If a person burns down the church on accident, and if it is indeed an accident, they will perform enough service of goodwill to make up the cost rebuild the church twice.
The churches of Nyaan cooperate with the government to the best of their ability, and in some circumstances will help support the government with their own arbitors or sentinals. Most governing bodies that tolerate the church of Nyaan do so through mutual agreements.

Worship

The mandated and widely followed plan for a church is a basic building consisting of six pews and stained glass windows. Services are organized and usually held once or twice a week, depending on the local leader. A typical service would consist of an hour of fellowship and feasting in the name of Nyaan. Milk and pastries are served in excess at these services. Once the hour of feasting is done, a chapter out of The Book of Nyaan is read aloud and meditated upon.

The Book of Nyaan

To establish and maintain the moral foundation of The Church of Nyaan, the First Overseer of the church order devised the Book of Nyaan to guide his followers after his death. The book is a compilation of many proverbs and sayings approved by the Order of Nyaan.
