Genesis Engines
S'aue, being mechanical in nature, do not procreate in the way that organic beings do. Instead, they are constructed in workshops made for that express purpose, to the exact specifications of their predecessors, at least in the case of the rich and powerful.
The first and most prestigious of these workshops is Genesis Engines, based in Goptone Junction.
Such replacement is considered taboo in S'aue society, as it is generally accepted that all S'aue have a "shelf life" which is the time it takes for their constituent components to fail, after which their parts are recycled for the creation of new, usually lower-class S'aue. Therefore, replacement of parts is reserved only for the S'aue of extreme importance for the Empire, who are considered so vital as to be irreplacable. Which, of course, Mykros purports herself to be.
History
Founded by Mykros, originally in Whirlington, Genesis Engines is the first of the S'aue workshops to have been built after the revolt that earned them their freedom from the yoke of the Logicians. At first, it too constructed S'aue for all walks of life but gradually, as the S'aue Empire developed, other workshops opened and the social classes were instated, Genesis Engines devoted itself to the construction of the elite of S'aue society. The establishment has been creating the cream of the crop ever since, and it is still considered the greatest of pedigrees to have been built in Genesis Engines.Locations
While its headquarters is based in Goptone Junction, Genesis Engines is actually a franchise and has workshops all over the S'aue Empire. In fact, it is thought to be a sign that a settlement of the S'aue is considered truly important only after a Genesis Engines workshop is built there.Founder
Mykros is a brilliant S'aue inventor and mechanic, and she played a pivotal role in figuring out how to ensure the continuation of the S'aue species when they were freed from servitude. This, of course, means that Mykros is now hundreds of years old, a feat she has achieved via the replacement of parts of her as they began to fail.Such replacement is considered taboo in S'aue society, as it is generally accepted that all S'aue have a "shelf life" which is the time it takes for their constituent components to fail, after which their parts are recycled for the creation of new, usually lower-class S'aue.
