Pontiff of Whitestone

Qualifications

To become the Pontiff of Whitestone, one must first rise through the ranks of the church and gain the favor of the people. When the Pontiff dies and a new one must be seated the Apeiron Circle convenes and votes upon a new Pontiff among themselves. They must also hold a popular vote among the people as well or the church may anger not only the gods but the people whose faith is put in them.

Appointment

The lead of the Apeiron Circle crowns the Pontiff and the rest of the circle gathers to pay witness to the event as it is seen as a holy ascension of power.

Duties

The Pontiff of Whitestone is in charge of overseeing the military defense of the city, leading worship in the Scarlet Cathedral, and passing new laws to ensure his peoples safety.

Responsibilities

The tasks in which the Pontiff is held personally responsible are few. The Pontiff is a symbol to the people and a voice of the gods. Merely being in his/her presence can be described as overwhelming. He/She is men't to inspire and protect the people of Whitestone and those whose faith is put in the gods.
