Whitestone is ruled with a Theocracy style government with Pontiff Sigmund Rosegrove at its head. Collecting enough gold from the temples in Whitestone combined with his own wealth he makes through his followers and missionaries, Pontiff Rosegrove is able to maintain a spot in the Plutonion Council. His followers are vast and because of this so is the pontiffs knowledge on events in other settlements and even kingdoms. Services in the cities temples are mandatory and every citizen must show to worship the gods. The people of Whitestone do not object to this and even go as far as to report anyone whom they believe has or is not attending worship. The individual is questioned and even tortured if need be to ascertain the motive of not going to worship with the rest of the population. The individual responsable for such an act may even be seen as a sorcerer and either given over to the Archaic Enforcers or burned at the stake by a sizable amount of Whitestones population.
Defences
Whitestone features large walls of stone that surround the city. The walls are 7 feet thick and 20 feet tall. and have also been white washed like the rest of the city. Whitestone has quite a small military force at its disposal but due to the pontiff Rosegrove's reputation, Paladins all throughout the Embershard Kingdom have gone and devoted themselves to the protection of the faith and Whitestone's faithful. The number of paladins that protect the city have reached 300. The city has two dual sided gatehouses with portcullis in each doorway and feature murder holes in the roof of the interior. The people of whitestone are knowen to drop oil and tar through these holes and turn the gatehouses into stinking deathtraps. In case of a breach into the city; the "Order of the White Angels" (who sit in the tallest towers that loom over the city) will use their magical bells to awaken large angel statues that can be found on several street corners and in many parks throughout the city. The Angels are fierce animated soldiers of stone that protect citizens of whitestone and indiscriminately slaughter the attacking invaders.
Industry & Trade
Below the city lies the ruins of Mercury; the old city that once stood in Whitestones place about 300 years ago. Many of its old buildings and roads sunk into the crust of Naphus as it was being swept away from existence. Cave and caverns of uneven terrain settle quietly under the city and connect the buried remnants of before into a large ruin.Because of this, many would be adventurers and treasure hunters find their way into the ruins of Mercury to find their fortune and many never come back at all. Those that do pull art and artifacts of the past from the ruins and sell them off to the highest bidder. The influx of adventurers brings coin from all over the kingdom to Whitestone and allows the following of The Way of Fire to find and root out sorcerers for a boost in public moral. Things like flour, linen, and wool are traded throughout the kingdom and provide the city with enough coin to improve the city's way of life and the life of those who receive these traded resources.

History
Born from the ashes of an older city, Whitestone stands as the symbol of rebirth and endurance for the people of the entire kingdom. During the events of the Necrophage epidemic, the entire city of Mercury was annihilated. Very few survivors were able to escape and reach safety however, when the epidemic was over; King Alexander Embershard ordered the ruins of the city to be removed and rebuilt. The city would shine white in the sun and stand testiment to the rest of the world that Embershard and her people were far from beaten.
Architecture
Most buildings here are made of stone and wood with a whitewash finishing. Most residences are two to three stories tall and feature slanted peak roofs. Glass is often implemented in the windows of buildings here but there are some exceptions throughout the city. Gardens, large market pavilions and winding roads are prominant in Whitestone.
Geography
Whitestone rests in the center of Carnalis Valley. The valley was renamed from The Chiliad Fields in the aftermath of the Necrophage. The valley was once a section of large agricultural fields owned by dozens of farmers and this land was farmed long before this time as well. It provided the means for Mercury to prosper and conduct trade. Now it is remembered as the slaughter grounds for thousands of fleeing people during the height of the Necrophage outbreak. Out of respect, these fields are no longer farmed and many tell tales of ghosts and fleeing spirits in the night; reliving those daunting days over and over again. The vally features several wooded bluffs throughout its tall golden grasses and many species of animal thrive here as they did before the time of men.
