Sarana

Sarana is a relatively small fishing town on the coast of Nokexa with the North Arlyte Sea. Unlike the rest of the country, Sarana boasts a very traditionally orcish architecture, remnants of its past as a city of the kingdom of Cyfandir.   Although modest, the town is well kept, clean, and safe. Streets are narrow, most with just enough room for a single wagon or cart to be driven in one direction of the stone-paved roads, but not both. Houses and other buildings are typically made of uneven logs and pieces of wood tied together, and often covered in thick, canvas-style fabrics, with red, dark green, and brown roofs.   By the docks is where the town becomes more lively, as fishermen set sail to harvest the rich waters of the North Arlyte Sea. Some trade also happens through this port, with goods coming in primarily from Dund Gazar and Koninkryk, although the mercantile vessels traveling to and from other kingdoms are not rare.   Half-orcs make up the majority of Sarana's population, but like most of Nokexa, there is a very diverse population, with humans and half-elves also abundant alongside elves and halflings.   Fishing is the main industry of Sarana. Trade also flows through Sarana, as it is the only coastal city of Nokexa. Thus, goods imported to and from Dund Gazar, Our Sakratua, and Nabera, often flow through Sarana.   For most of history, Sarana was a town of Cyfandir - a strategic Northernmost settlement for the kingdom. However, following decades-long disputes between Cyfandir and Koninkryk over who got to tax Sarana and other now-Nokexan settlements, Sarana became a self-governed member of the autonomous country of Nokexa.
