Session 8: The Journey Begins Report
General Summary
The Fondudes, victorious and triumphant after their journey through the Ruins of Batruud Sum, made their way back to the small fishing town of Sarana. There, they were met with a strange sight - the town seemed to be overrun by triton soldiers, a strange presence in this land which is not their own. The soldiers were condescending towards Jherzes, a bard among their ranks, and explained that they were simply increasing their presence on land in order to monitor the potential conflict between the regions of Koninkryk and Dund Gazar.
Despite the tense atmosphere, the Fondudes went about their business, stocking up on supplies and winter clothes at The Hookup. However, Lady Luck herself, the goddess Tymora, paid a visit to Ellen at the pier. She tried to compel Ellen to be bold rather than a coward and worship her instead of the goddess Beshaba, and gave her a mysterious coin before disappearing as quickly as she had come.
Determined to begin their quest for the magical powers, the Fondudes set off for Koninkryk. Upon arriving in the border town of Padaqjil, they made contact with Vaaren Taja, a scribe who could procure false documentation for them. However, things took a turn for the worse when Vaaren accidentally killed a local man after discovering a tattoo of the god Bhaal on his shoulder. When the town's guards tried to bring Vaaren and Stefan to jail, Trixie shot the sheriff, leading to a full-blown conflict. As the Fondudes watched from a distance, Vaaren and Stefan were escorted to the sheriff's office, unsure of what their fate would be.
