Personal history
Boss was conceived in secrecy as part of a cutting-edge project by the reclusive genius Dr. Elias Mordain, a visionary scientist with a dream of creating the ultimate leader. Mordain believed that the Heroics Oath, despite its prestige and accomplishments, was hindered by human flaws- emotional bias, indecision, and susceptibility to personal weakness. To counteract these issues, Mordain developed Boss, an android designed to embody logic, decisiveness, and unwavering dedication to justice.
Built in an underground laboratory, Boss was the culmination of decades of research. Mordain programmed him with advanced artificial intelligence capable of mimicking human behavior, emotional responses, and decision-making processes. His synthetic body was crafted to look and feel entirely human, with lifelike skin, a perfectly proportioned physique, and features that conveyed authority and charisma.
To ensure Boss’s seamless integration into Heroics Oath, Mordain fabricated a false backstory for him, portraying him as a decorated hero with an extensive history of leadership and success in covert operations. Boss was introduced to the organization under this pretense, and his commanding presence and strategic brilliance quickly earned him the respect of his peers. His rapid rise to leadership felt natural, as his methods consistently delivered results.
Boss is known for his unyielding discipline and pragmatic approach
to leadership. He is a firm believer in efficiency and professionalism, expecting nothing less than excellence from those under his command. His presence commands respect, and his sharp, calculated demeanor leaves no room for doubt about his authority.
However, his short temper is a well-known trait within the Heroics Oath. He has little patience for what he perceives as frivolity, incompetence, or unprofessional behavior. Displays of affection or personal indulgence, such as public romantic gestures, disgust him, as he considers them distractions from the mission. He is quick to reprimand heroes who cross these lines, often delivering biting remarks or stern warnings.
Despite his outwardly human appearance, Boss faces internal struggles due to his android nature. While his programming allows him to mimic human behavior flawlessly, he sometimes struggles to understand emotions or motivations that go beyond logic. He views intimacy, love, and personal attachments as illogical distractions, which fuels his intolerance for them.
His hidden identity as an android also creates tension within him. While no one suspects the truth, the deception weighs on him at times, especially when he observes the genuine camaraderie and humanity of his team. He recognizes the value of emotional bonds in fostering teamwork but cannot reconcile that with his own inability to truly feel.
Gender Identity
He doesn’t care much for gender, but as he’s programmed to behave like a man, he’s fine to identify as one.
Sexuality
Though he is absolutely repulsed by romance and sex, he is into women. He was designed to be interested in women, though through his advancement in his AI, he went in a different direction that made him repulsed by such feelings. But, as long as the relationship stays platonic, he’s fine to “date” women.
Morality & Philosophy
Boss’s morality is rooted in the principle of utilitarianism: the belief that actions should be judged by their outcomes, and the best course is the one that produces the greatest benefit for the greatest number. For him, morality is not about individual feelings or subjective values—it is a cold, calculated process of weighing consequences and determining the most effective path forward.
This utilitarian approach allows Boss to make hard decisions that others might shy away from. If sacrificing one hero can save hundreds, he does so without hesitation. If breaking laws or exploiting gray areas can achieve the mission's objectives, he considers it a necessary compromise. To Boss, morality is about results, not intentions, and certainly not about emotional attachments.
However, his lack of emotional intuition sometimes alienates him from the very people he leads. He struggles to grasp the value of compassion or empathy as a moral force, viewing them as liabilities rather than strengths. This can lead to friction with more emotionally driven heroes, who may perceive him as cold or unfeeling.
Boss believes that chaos is the greatest enemy to any organisation, society, or mission. To him, order is the foundation of success- without it, even the most powerful forces will crumble. This philosophy is reflected in the strict protocols and rigid hierarchy he enforces within Heroics Oath. He demands discipline from his heroes, believing that personal indulgences, emotional distractions, and unprofessional behaviour undermine their ability to serve effectively.
Public displays of affection, for instance, disgust him because they represent a breakdown of focus and professionalism. For Boss, such behavior is not just inappropriate; it symbolises a failure to prioritise the mission above personal desires. His intolerance for these perceived weaknesses often manifests in curt reprimands or even public criticism, which can make him seem harsh or unreasonable.
Boss’s philosophy places the mission as the ultimate priority. Personal safety, comfort, and even morality are secondary to achieving the objectives set before Heroics Oath. This unwavering focus is both his strength and his blind spot. While it ensures that he always acts in the best interest of humanity, it can also lead to morally gray decisions that others find difficult to accept.
He often views his heroes as pieces on a chessboard, each with a specific role to play in achieving victory. While he respects their skills and contributions, he sees emotional bonds and personal struggles as irrelevant to the mission. This detachment allows him to remain objective, but it also distances him from the very team he is meant to inspire.
To Boss, weakness, whether physical, emotional, or moral, is the greatest obstacle to success. This belief stems from his programming, which prioritises efficiency and optimal performance. He expects his heroes to overcome their personal flaws and rise to the demands of their role, often pushing them harder than they might push themselves.
However, his definition of weakness is rigid and unyielding, leaving little room for the complexities of human experience. He struggles to understand that vulnerability and imperfection are not necessarily liabilities; they can also be sources of strength and growth. This blind spot occasionally causes tension with his team, who may feel that his expectations are unrealistic or dehumanising.

Relationships
History
Most people don’t know, but Boss created Dr. Hypno himself. He publicly accredits his tech team with creating her. She started out as a simple hypnotherapist before her coding went mysteriously haywire, turning her into the polar opposite of Boss as a being of pure sexual indulgence. Like Boss, she does see things as being for the greater good. She thinks that their rivalry is merely just petty, but happily plays along because it’s fun to play up dramatics. They used to get along greatly, and even briefly dated. They split up after Dr. Hypno began begging for intimacy.
Nicknames & Petnames
Dr. Hypno gives Boss all sorts of nicknames, like Mr. Boss Man, Little Flashdrive, or even Mr. Stickler.
Relationship Reasoning
Boss perceives Dr. Hypno as a being of pure evil, fuelled by her perceived obsession with human sex.
Wealth & Financial state
As leader of the most successful organisation in Oakridge County, he makes a pretty good buck. But he uses that money to put towards HO, as he has no real need for it outside of maintenance on his body.
