The Periwinkle Eclipse is a breathtaking celestial event characterized by the moon taking on a delicate periwinkle hue during a rare and extraordinary alignment of cosmic forces. The main moon in the sky becomes covered in shadow from the planet and the light of the smaller moons refracts upon the planet in a soft blue-purple hue. This phenomenon takes place every 50 or so years. Usually during this event, there are many rituals and festivals that happen. One of the main occurences of the event is that usually, an Oracle and her Sentinel will be born. These are known as
Bonded Ones. Periwinkle Eclipses are often seen in conjunction with the Prismatic Veil. These two phenoms in collaboration cause the veil between the Void and this world to wane and cause many things to happen all at once. Some of these include: Oracles Transcending or being born, Monsters have heightened abilities, supernatural encounters happen more often and it is often said you are able to speak to the dead, among others.
Artistic, Cultural and Ritualistic Celebrations
Season of Reflection
Communities hold meditative ceremonies under the eclipse, reflecting on past cycles and setting intentions for the future. Many people bleieve that leaving Cerulean Lorcasite crystals out in the Eclipse will bring them luck throughout the coming year. Some even bestow Cerulean Lorcasite as an inlay for family heirlooms.
Eclipse Tattoos

Many places in Arotora and the surrounding continents, Otoris and Klelea often use special periwinkle dyes to give themselves either temporary or permanent tattoos to mark this momentous occasion. Often there is floral and moon motifs. Many artists offer face painting for children during the event. Many of the face paint pigments they use often have a bioluminescent ink from a very particular hard to find clam called Aurellum Luminari, so the face paint glows with a light purple-blue hue. The permanent tattos that are created to celebrate the event have artists trying to match the hue of light that the eclipse casts.
Cultural Significance
Many cultures ascribe mystical properties to the Periwinkle Eclipse. It's often seen as a harbinger of renewal, creativity, or spiritual awakening. Some tales speak of it as the "Moon of Dreams," when cosmic energies inspire visions or insights. Often times the Moon of Dreams is a time when the boundary between the physical and ethereal worlds thins. It's said that during the eclipse, visions and omens can be seen in the sky, and dreams experienced on this night carry prophetic significance. People often prepare for the event with rituals, including fasting, meditation, and crafting charms to enhance their connection to the divine.
