Zalnyx is an older and experienced gold dragonborn who works underneath Emerald wick in the town of bloomwilt as one of the three ring rulers, specifically ruling the Outer Ring.
A former elder of the Da'Shaw clan (now scattered since they were defeated in
The Drake), they are an elderly creature with a large and heavy build and tarnished gold scales that, along with their thin and wispy white hair, reflect their age.
Zalnyx has become the outer ring leader in
Bloomwilt after being promoted by
Emerald Quick-Wick for their clerical skill as they underwent the same trainer as their younger brother
Da'Shaw Calinax.
Zalnyx is a wise leader for Bloomwilt and has notably taken an active part in ensuring the clock timer architecture of the city is working appropriately and efficiently, though he is also known for his politeness and love of children, especially through the story telling he so loves partaking in regularly.
Zalnyx's love of children comes from his own traumatic history, he destroyed a village when he ran and worked as a berserker with the Da'Shaw clan. Their screams and deaths still haunt him and, from there, the Quori and Nocta Mori, have planted a seed of trauma and nightmares that lead to him obsessing over children in an adoptive and protective manner, he feared the approach of the Venator due to these dreams realising into the wailing of mothers. This was especially clear to
The Kaechaek Party when they visited
The Ruins of Zazzgrad with him and discovered Zalnyx's nightmares when he was younger led to the venator destroying the village and killing his family.
