Taisa Konomi Akodo

Konomi’s parents were members of Toturi’s Army. Born in 1131 at the beginning of the War Against Shadow, her father was killed in the Battle of Oblivion’s Gate in 1133. Orphaned when her mother was killed in 1143 during the War of Spirits, Konomi served briefly in the Lion legions before receiving an appointment to the Imperial legions. Rising swiftly through the ranks, she was promoted to taisa in 1155, the youngest in the Imperial legions.
While unflappable in command and in battle, away from her duties or the battlefield her temper, when angered, is legendary. At winter court in 1154 she slew Shiba Hiroyuki in a duel for, she says, gravely insulting her while attempting to court her.
Explicitly placed under Miya Ansho’s command by the Emperor, many wonder how the relationship between the serene governor and the volatile taisa will play out. With at least 3 armies (Crane, Scorpion, Lion) known to be present in Naishou Province, Konomi will need every bit of her martial skill if her 750 legionnaires are forced to contend with more than 1 of them at a time.
