Port of Rivershore

This is the largest district of Rivershore, and is made up of the 3 dockyards, as well as the extended housing and businesses that are next to the ports. This is where the majority of the people working at ships or the docks stay, with the exception of the Dwarven population. The 3 dockyards are divided because of different fees and taxes.
  • The Western being the most expensive and managed directly by the royalty of the city. It specializes in large trade vessels and also hires low ranking mages from the Arcanic Order to help appraise the value of goods to tax, and move large amounts of cargo easily. It also employs the most skilled carpenters and other repairs-people, making it a good resting point for expensive ships. Because of this, the taxes for trading goods here are high, and only large merchants who sell expensive or rare goods arrive here. Here can also be found exotic goods, and in the alleys are shops that sell trinkets and baubles, that cannot be found anywhere else.
  • The Center dockyard is the largest one, employing a large labor force made up of humans and dwarves. Its taxes are not too high, and its services and repairs are of good quality. It attracts the bulk of sea-faring traders, and hosts the largest number of inns and travelers for the sailors to drink and rest.
  • The Eastern dockyard is the stretchyest one, and it is known to be controlled partially by the The Syndicate. It is the center of smuggling operations that push goods to the trade market without paying taxes, and the places around it are also the seediest inns, where lowlifes, drunks and pickpockets hang out.
