Celestial Wastes
The Celestial Wastes is a loosely connected collection of planes in the positive sphere of the planar system. It is seen by many as the mirror of the Abyss. However, the idea that the Wastes are safe is a common misconception.
The Celestial Wastes were where the final battles against Tazan, The Ravenous One took place. This war ravaged countless planes and though Tazan was defeated, its evil seeped into the planes themselves. The holy warriors of Suriel continue to hunt the evil that springs into being simply from the shadow of Tazan's presence.
Along with its creation when Tazan was defeated, the Vein was formed when the demon primes fled to what would soon become the Abyss. Where planar travel past the Feywild is normally incredibly difficult or outright impossible, the tear in space that is the Vein allows easier planar travel. It is across the vein that many battles between Angels and Demons are fought.
Geography
They Wastes are the remains of important battlefields, vast fortresses, and sites of great battles that each spanned hundreds of years. While some of its planes might have once been beautiful grand locales, few have managed to be repaired. Many are overrun with dangerous creatures that seek to wick away a fraction of Tazan's power that lingers even all these millenia later.
The Wastes are, by almost all measures, the furthest one can be from the Abyss.
