North Pole Tunnel System
The complex tunnel system, as vital for Operation: Merry Christmas as everything else, lies underneath the entire valley (Santa's Toy Factory Compound, Center of Christmas Spirit and Magic City). There are many tunnels which crisscross each other and even meet at intersections. Some tunnels are for animal-pulled sleighs but most are smaller tunnels used by the elves and Rulers. Along the way are maps in case poeple get lost.
The tunnels going to all places in the valley are bigger than within each one.
These tunnels are two sleighs wide and seven foot high. The first tunnel is from Santas Toy Workshop Compound to Center of Christmas Spirit and Magic City and back. Each one also has a tunnel to The Plane of Christmas Mystics.
The tunnels within each Heart are six and a half feet tall.
Santa’s Factory has tunnels that go to the Elf Dormitories, the Workshop, or the Stables and the sleigh barn. Trapdoors or hidden doors are often under carpets or part of the wall. Hollow walls are usually made so that the reindeer can safely store toys in the storage barns. The whole operation is able to move during a snowstorm. Sometimes, they are used if something was clandestine.
A series of tunnels lead from each elfin housing to all buildings in Christmas Town Central District. There is also a tunnel from the reindeer and sleigh barns. Claus Palace has tunnels into all buildings in Christmas Town Central District, the barns, and the office. The tunnels might extend to the church.
The tunnels are extremely vital to Christmas due to the weather. The weather, of course, is caused by all Winter Deities from September 1st to December 18th. The residents always plan for this even though it is more trouble for the elves and the animal life.
All stay safe by using the tunnels in this weather. The storms of ice and snow
Reindeer and polar bears are often fine pulling sleighs not steered by the elves. But there are reindeer-height tunnels for them to pull wagons with toys in them.
The tunnels were originally under Santa’s Toy Factory/The First Heart of Christmas. These tunnels were easy to navigate. After moving underneath North Pole City, the tunnels were still easy to navigate. And then Magic came back and they went beneath both hearts.
The tunnels were made by Ancient Power out of the Artic ice soon after Nicholas makes The North Pole home. This is done as Father Winter and the group of Winter Deities wanted to release winter more often up north as they had complete freedom to do so. But then Nicholas moved in and they felt somewhat restrained and restricted. An agreement was reached. It was now that a tunnel system would be made and that Nicholas and his elves and other helpers would use them form September 1st to December 18th.
