Prophetfriend Scarf

It was dark, and the starlight shimmered through the light drizzle as Timothy peered around the corner of the building and down the main street. He wasn't going to get back to the camp tonight, and staying in a town with - he shuddered - spellwriters was not something he wanted to contemplate. And should anybody find out what he was doing... he shook his head and ghosted into the street. As he moved down the road, he noticed a scarf hanging from a window - it was midnight black, with the faintest silver border distinguishing it from the darkness of the sky. The door was unlocked, and entered the safehouse.

Manufacturing process

Prophetfriend scarves are not usually made by those not involved with the cause, due to the unusual nature of the decoration and difficulty of creating them.  They are typically woven in secret in Prophet settlement areas unmonitored by the Rider , before being distributed to the members of the settlements.

Significance

The Prophetfriend scarf is worn by those who support the efforts of the All-Seer's Prophets, and when seen by those who know of its significance it represents many things. When worn with the silver edges showing but tightly wound around the wearer's neck, it represents willingness to give money to a Prophet in need. When it has one side hanging down it shows that the wearer is in a position of authority, and when both sides hang down it shows that the wearer has influence with the local law forces and can get a Prophet out of trouble. When hung from a windowsill as though to dry it indicates a safe house, to which the door is typically unlocked.
